Together with Les 6 au jardin, we embark on a remarkable adventure - creating a unique and handcrafted wine nurtured as a family in our small 0.41-hectare vineyard, a true garden of vines. This sincere and enthusiastic journey brings us together and shows who we truly are.
« Les 6 au jardin allowed us to fulfill our family’s dream—to create an exceptional wine that truly captures the essence of a unique terroir.»
GUILLAUME MARTINEAU
Our wine grows at the same time of our OWN STORY
A WISH CAME TRUE
In 2004, Guillaume and Nathalie set off to South America with their family, planting the first seeds of their dream to one day create their own wine. Guillaume has always been passionate about vineyards. After gaining experience in Saint-Émilion, including at Château Cheval Blanc, his journey led him to oversee François Lurton's vineyards in Argentina and Chile.
Upon returning to Europe in 2008, the idea of starting a family venture began to take shape, inspired by the exploration of emerging wine-producing regions such as Spain, Portugal, Ukraine... We eventually found the perfect plot in Saint-Georges Saint-Émilion in 2018. That's when Les 6 au jardin was born, marking the beginning of an extraordinary adventure for the six of us.
The hand and the HEART OF MAN are at the center of our viticulture
While Guillaume leads the way in the vineyard, focusing on every detail, Nathalie is committed to growing the estate’s commercial side. Their children, Gaspard, Sixtine, Augustin and Apolline, are at their side and enthusiastically join in, spending weekends and holidays working in the vineyard. During harvest, friends come together to share the experience—a joyful time that truly reflects our family's deep love for the land.
« Our wine is as much the result of the vine as it is of shared moments of camaraderie—between brothers, sisters, and friends. Human hands and hearts are at the very core of our winemaking.».

OUR PLOT, A TRUE HIDDEN GEM
Nestled on the southern slopes of Montagne Saint-Émilion, the hidden gems of Saint-Georges Saint-Émilion gradually come to light. In Bordeaux’s smallest appellation lies our 0.41-hectare parcel, cradled by a lush bosquet and teeming with biodiversity. Overlooking this garden-like vineyard, a charming Romanesque church stands watch in the distance.
The terroir of this vineyard is exceptional in every aspect, beginning with the gentle incline of its south-facing hillside. Since 1957, our ancient vines have thrived in deep clay soils, which judiciously retain moisture, preserving the soil’s vital freshness. Benefiting from moderate water stress and a high planting density of 7,000 vines per hectare, the Merlot grapes ripen slowly and gracefully. Their berries, brimming with complex aromas, offer a perfect balance of power, suppleness, and roundness, promising unforgettable tasting experiences.
« A land rich in balance and harmony....Here, our family has found its own haven, perfect for cultivating exceptional grapes. »
NATHALIE MARTINEAU
In the vineyard, constancy and perseverance are our KEY WORDS
BE INSPIRED FOR DISCOVERY
Embrace past experiences, dare to explore new horizons, and grow through the discovery of diverse techniques. From France to South America, Portugal to Spain—this approach forms the foundation of our expertise, always honoring nature, and our terroir.
The quality of our wine relies primarily on the precision of our work in the vineyards. That’s why we approach each task with the meticulous care of a gardener: precision Duclos pruning with minimal yields, combined with consistent de-budding, systematic shoot thinning, and de-stemming, ensures only one bunch per shoot. This is followed by meticulous hand harvesting and a rigorous double selection process—first in the vineyard and then at the sorting table.
We maintain intentionally low yields, carefully managed to achieve optimal, uniform ripeness. This meticulous care for each vine results in exceptional berry concentration, which is further elevated through gentle vinification. Prioritizing soil health is at the heart of our process. Horse-drawn ploughing prevents compaction, preserving the integrity of our old vines. In autumn, we sow cover crops that aerate the soil deeply and provide a natural source of organic nutrients.
« In the vineyard, our guiding principles are focus, consistency, and perseverance: each vine is unique, and we carefully consider the future of everyone to make the best decisions »
SIXTINE MARTINEAU
Infinitely gentle winemaking
In the winery beside our home, we uphold the same philosophy: nothing is left to chance. We gently crush the grape bunches by foot, following the traditional Portuguese method, to respect the integrity of the berries. The vinification process spans three weeks, with the grapes placed in new 225-litre French oak "cigar" barrels. These barrels, thinner and longer than standard ones, allow for greater interaction between the grape skins and the must. Each day, the barrels are carefully rolled to ensure a slow, gentle extraction through infusion alone.
Aging occurs in the same barrels used for fermentation, allowing the oak influence to remain subtle and never overpower the expression of the terroir. The unique cigar-shaped barrels also enhance contact between the wine and its lees, ensuring a soft, supple texture. By maintaining a cool temperature, no higher than 12°C, we promote slow, intricate interactions between the wine and the wood. After 20 to 22 months of extended aging, marked by regular tastings, our wine is ready to be bottled—without the need for filtration.
« Our wine evolves alongside our personal journey and experiences, blending techniques from the world’s finest vineyards, carefully choosing only the absolute best.»
AUGUSTIN MARTINEAU
A great wine that sublimates a SINGULAR TERROIR

A Truly RARE WINEA Truly RARE WINE
THE QUINTESSENCE OF ITS TERROIR
Les 6 au jardin is the result of our unwavering commitment to revealing the pure essence of our terroir, and we are proud to share it with you in every bottle.
Our wine embodies the remarkable character of Saint-Georges Saint-Émilion, with ripe black fruits offering vibrant freshness and a refined structure that promises graceful aging. This natural power is enhanced by the finesse of our meticulous craftsmanship, creating an elegant signature that is both delicate and complex.
Crafted in Bordeaux's smallest appellation, from vineyards with purposefully low yields of just 25 hl/ha, our wine is produced in limited quantities, with only 700 to 1, 200 numbered bottles each vintage. While already gracing the finest tables, these age-worthy wines are destined to thrive for years in the cellar, passing from one generation of connoisseurs to the next.
« A deep garnet-red hue. The nose reveals pure aromas of ripe black fruits, with notes of plum, blackberry, dark chocolate, and mild oak. On the palate, the wine shows good density, with youthful but finely integrated tannins adding freshness to the ripe and unctuous fruit. Delicate hints of oak and spice complement a long, fleshy finish.»
